I am Cornelia Hauch, a visual artist from Upper Austria.

My works originate from inner images, travel experiences and moments in nature – processed in reduced color tones and natural materials such as earth, ash, sand and oil paint.

I work in an abstract-expressive style, with a noticeable structure, sometimes figuratively.

My paintings invite you to pause and reflect. They tell stories – of feeling, time, and depth.

Abstraktes Mixed-Media-Gemälde eines großen, ruhenden Frauengesichts mit geschlossenen Augen vor tiefschwarzem Hintergrund. Erdige Schichten in Beige, Braun, Rost, Grau und Schwarz durchziehen das Gesicht wie Sedimente und Landschaftsspuren. Auf der Stirn erscheint eine feine Silhouette kleiner Bäume, während Teile des Gesichts in dunklen, herablaufenden Strukturen verschwinden. Das Werk verbindet Mensch, Erde und Natur und vermittelt eine stille, zugleich geheimnisvolle Atmosphäre.

Die Illusion der Stille

Wir glauben, die Natur im Griff zu haben. Wir formen sie, verändern sie und versuchen, sie unseren Bedürfnissen anzupassen.

Doch vielleicht ist ihre Stille nur eine Illusion.

Die Natur schläft nie wirklich. Unter der Oberfläche verändert sie sich unaufhörlich. Schichten entstehen, verschwinden und lagern sich neu ab. Und irgendwann holt sich die Natur zurück, was ihr gehört.

In „Die Illusion der Stille“ verschmelzen Mensch und Erde miteinander. Erdschichten durchziehen das ruhende Gesicht, während Teile davon bereits in der Dunkelheit verschwinden. Die feine Landschaft auf der Stirn wird zur stillen Erinnerung daran, wie klein und vergänglich der Mensch gegenüber den Kräften der Natur ist.

Das Werk markiert für mich den Beginn einer neuen künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung mit der Beziehung zwischen Mensch, Natur und Zeit – und mit der Frage, wie viel Kontrolle wir tatsächlich besitzen.
