About me

Cornelia Hauch Künstlerin aus Oberösterreich Portraitbild

It's me

and my art

My paintings are multi-layered narratives – layer by layer, a new story is revealed.

My approach to painting can best be described as a constant dance: a delicate balancing act between conscious intention and allowing spontaneity.
I've learned that too much control stifles the vibrancy of art. My initial vision merely points me in the direction. Then the work itself begins to take the lead, and the collaboration begins.

In this process, a color demands an unexpected combination, a form urges to break the original pattern. This is precisely the moment when I am in the here and now, in deep flow, and I begin to dance this dance.

My task as an artist is to follow this inherent dynamic, to support it, and to allow myself to be guided by it. The result is a painting that is neither managed nor over-controlled, but lives, breathes, and surprises – including myself.

Matter & Metamorphosis

My materials

In my work, I combine the versatility of acrylic and oil paints with the raw elements of nature. I layer not only colors, but fragments of the world: soil from my garden, sand, marble dust, and red earth from Croatia find their place on the surface, as do coal, coffee, and pure natural pigments . I am particularly fascinated by the use of ash and earth —for me, they are powerful symbols of transience. I deliberately combine this rough, earthy base with a touch of luxury, such as gold spray , to create a counterpoint.
The symbiosis of roughness and elegance reflects the depth of my art:
It is a play between mysticism and melancholy, yet radiates lightness and playfulness. These multi-layered narratives emerge on diverse surfaces such as canvas, paper, and wooden panels , with each material contributing to the character of the work.

My inspiration

Nature is my greatest inspiration. In my abstract, expressive landscape paintings, I do not capture an exact representation of the world, but rather its energy and texture.

Their structures – sand, mud, and elements I collect on my travels – find their way directly onto the canvas. Besides nature, urban impressions also flow into my work: in my cityscapes and figurative works , buildings and people become part of these multi-layered narratives.
Layer by layer, a new story unfolds, reflecting my daily moods, experiences, and memories. It's a kaleidoscope of impressions—from joy to melancholy, from distant travels to the people who have shaped my life. In my paintings, I connect the transience of life with profound emotions.

I don't just want to use my art to...
Not just touching the eyes, but above all the soul. Each of my works is an expression of inner stillness, longing, and the beauty of the moment.

Nature, soul & a good joke

I am an artist who works with heart and soul. For me, genuine moments matter: profound conversations, authentic connections, and the creative tranquility of my studio.

I draw my strength from nature and my deep connection to animals. It is a matter close to my heart to give refuge to those creatures who have been rejected by life. This empathy flows into every brushstroke.

But those who know me know: Life can also be lighthearted. A good joke and hearty laughter are an integral part of my everyday life – they are the counterbalance to the quiet, reflective moments that my
